When the Muroran Works of Nippon Steel introduced automation devices and control computers,the Works eatablished a maintenance and repair department and adopted an in-plant repair system. |

The Muroran Works carried out the maintenance and repair of 45 process computers, 8,000 instrumentation loops, 40 automation devices, and 2,500 communication devices installed in the Works (total number of engineers : 300) |
| 1984 |
The Muroran Works established a structure for in-plant manufacture of the hardware and software for instruments and control devices, in addition to their maintenance and repair services.
The Works then began the manufacture of measuring and control device necessary for steel production processes. |
| 1987 |
The circuit design engineer group, image processing engineer group, etc., were organized. |
| On November 1 of that year, the Muroran Instrument and Control Center (MKC) was inaugurated. |

On April 1 of that year, Nittetsu Hokkaido Control Systems Co.( ) was established. |

In July, the construction of the main building and the expansion of the former building were completed. |
| In October, the Tokyo branch office was opened. |

In July, the Nagoya branch office was opened. |
| In October, the Osaka branch office was opened. |

In April, the Hokkaido branch office was opened. |
